Maternal Health Equity Press Conference & Rally
On Dia de los Muertos, join advocates and their supporters to demand action on Texas’ maternal health disparities
You are invited call to action to prioritize people over politics by immediately releasing the 2022 Texas Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee and Department of State Health Services Joint Biennial Report.
The last report, released in 2020, determined that most pregnancy-related deaths were preventable, Black women are more likely to experience pregnancy-related death, and additional study of maternal health disparities was necessary.
Now, for the first time ever, the most recent report on how many Texans die as a result of pregnancy or childbirth complications is not planned to be released before the Texas Legislature convenes in January.
